ANTHONY COUNTY, VICE-PRESIDENT
OF THE SUNSHINE AWARDS®
Teaneck, New Jersey, 17 July, 2001…………… The SUNSHINE Awards®
organization today released the following statement:
The SUNSHINE Awards® is pleased to announce that Mr. Anthony County has
assumed the position of Vice President of the organization. Mr. County has been
a member of the SUNSHINE Awards® organization for the past 10 years, serving as
an active member of the SUNSHINE Awards® Committee, as well as being a member
of its Board of Directors.
In making this announcement, Mr.Gilman T. Figaro, Sr., Founder and Chairman
of the SUNSHINE Awards®, commented, "Anthony has been an invaluable member
of the SUNSHINE Awards® organization for a number of years. He has an
unwavering commitment to the arts and culture of the Caribbean and
Caribbean-American communities. As a member of our team, he has worked
tirelessly to help bring greater recognition to the creators, performers and
producers of the rich and diverse art forms of these two communities. I am
confident that he will be an excellent Vice President. His professionalism and
vision will continue to be assets to our organization as he assumes the
responsibilities of this new role."
In accepting the Vice Presidency, Mr. County said, "I feel very thrilled
to be asked to assume the responsibilities of Vice President of the SUNSHINE
Awards®. The SUNSHINE Awards® is a premier organization that stands alone in
the recognition it gives to the efforts and talents of Caribbean artistes. I
have always felt very honoured to be associated with this remarkable
institution, and I consider it both a privilege and a challenge to function in
this capacity." Mr. County, who is originally from Trinidad & Tobago,
is a Pharmacist and part-time lecturer. He is married and has two children.
